All-optical buffer is an essential component for all-optical communication. Coupled Resonator Induced Transparency(CRIT) effect is a typical experimental method to generate slow light. Resonant optical tunneling effect (ROTE) resonant cavity is a unique rectangular microcavity. Inspired by ring microcavity coupling, the optical resonator coupling based on ROTE is analyzed in this paper. The model to realize the CRIT effect is simulated using the transmission matrix method. The variation of the output spectrum is investigated by adjusting the system parameters. The simulation results show that after a series of parameter adjustments, a significant increase in the quality factor of the CRIT transparent peak (7.8×107) can be achieved, which is two orders of magnitude higher compared to the quality factor of the initial characteristic peak. The optical buffer based on the ROTE resonator coupling system has the benefits of easy integration, a straightforward manufacturing process, and low cost, which offers concepts and techniques for creating new optical buffers.
