With hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) as modifier, organic bentonite was prepared.The effect of solution pH and adsorption time on the adsorption performance of phenol and 2, 4-DCP was investigated, and the kinetic characteristics in adsorption process was also studied.The results show that CTAB was intercalated into Na-bentonite, and the layer spacing was increased from 1.05 to 2.04 nm.When the organic bentonite dosage was 0.20 g, the pH value of phenol solution and 2, 4-DCP solution was 6.80 and 6.65, respectively, the initial concentrate was 100 mg/L, the adsorption time was 40 min and the adsorption temperature was30 ℃, the removal rate of phenol and 2, 4-DCP was 30.26% and 93.61%, respectively.The adsorption of phenol and 2, 4-DCP on the organic bentonite followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model.
