abstract:
In order to study the stability of biochar supported nickel
(Ni/BC)catalyst during steam reforming of toluene(model compound of biomass gasification tar), the 100 h evaluation test was conducted and compared with traditional metal oxides(Ni/ZrO2 and Ni/γ-Al2O3). The stability of Ni/BC was better than that of Ni/ZrO2, but inferior to that of Ni/γ-Al2O3. Catalysts before and after reactions were characterized using thermogravimetry(TG), X-ray diffraction(XRD)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM). The results show that the coke deposition amount of Ni/BC catalyst after reaction was higher than that of Ni/ZrO2 and Ni/γ-Al2O3, and particle sintering was serious. However, Ni/BC had larger specific surface area and porous structure, which provided more active sites and enhanced the carbon tolerance capacity.
