    abstract:
To improve the ductility of the wall, four full-scale cold-formed steel shear wall specimens using corrugated steel sheathing with slits were tested under monotonic loading and cyclic loading. The effects of loading method, wall aspect ratio and opennings on the seismic performance of the shear wall were investigated. The bearing capacity, stiffness, ductility and energy dissipation of all wall specimens were obtained. The results indicate that: the influence of loading mode on the shear strength of shear wall with slits in the sheathing is not obvious; shear wall’s shear strength decreases with the increase of wall aspect ratio; with proper slits in the sheathing, the corrugated steel sheathed shear wall can yield significantly improved ductility while maintaining a high level of shear strength. In addition, a simplified analysis model of cold-formed thin-walled steel building was established using OpenSees program, and the collapse safety of building models with and without slits were compared. The analyses show that cold-formed steel shear wall using corrugated steel sheathing with slits can effectively reduce the collapse probability of structure.
