Research on Precise Design Method For Light-weight Steel Standing Seam Roof System

abstract:
On the basis of wind tunnel tests and numerical analysis, an effective wind-induced load estimation method at the base to the clips between roof panels and purlins was proposed. Full-scale specimen test and standard tests by single purlin-roof system specimens were conducted to investigate the failure modes of purlins and restraint effect on purlins from the roof system, as well as the influences of various factors on the bending capacity. Calculation formulas were proposed for the rotational and lateral restraint effect of roof system on purlins. On the basis of above analysis, the precise design theory and practical design method for typical light-weight metal roof systems were proposed, which would be referable in design of standing seam roof system.
