Computational Experiments on Frictional Head Loss in Labyrinth Channel

abstract:
The main head loss in labyrinth channel is local head loss,which is caused by its structural characteristics.However,there is no consensus on the proportion of total head loss that frictional head loss accounts for up to now.In order to analyze the proportion of total head loss in Labyrinth Channel,which the frictional head loss accounts for,the frictional head loss in trapezoidal and dental shape labyrinth channel was analyzed by physical model test.The results show that the frictional head loss accounts for 8.1%,14.9%,2.1% and 2.9% of total head loss in 45° trapezoidal labyrinth channel,60° trapezoidal labyrinth channel,45° dental shape labyrinth channel and 60° dental shape labyrinth channel,respectively.
