In this paper,a novel method of magnetic recording writing field analysis utilizing response surface methodology (RSM) is proposed,on the basis of which the combined influence of write head geometry and media properties can be effectively analyzed.The method is composed of three main modules:Parametric write head model based on finite element electromagnetic field analysis;Micromagnetic model of magnetic storage medium based on finite difference method;Effective write field model based on RSM.Using the method proposed,the paper further analyzes the writing performance of an asymmetrically shielded write head for shingled magnetic recording (SMR).The results show that the effective writing field (EWF) gradient is mainly subjected to the shielding trailing gap,and shielding side gap has a secondary impact.In addition,the analysis shows that the effect on EWF gradient from the anisotropy energy density of medium and the write head geometry is highly dependent,which indicates the necessity of inclusive designing. |
