abstract:
Pervaporation (PV) is a novel selective membrane separation technologies used for liquid-liquid separation.Recently,it has been widely employed to separate high value-added organics from aqueous solution. In this review,we introduced the advantages of using pervaporation-based coupled process for the separation of organics from aqueous solution and reviewed the development of pervaporation coupled with other well-established processes, especially pevaporation-fractional condensation (PVFC) coupling process for the separation of high boiling-point organics with high-purity.Vapor permeation follows the same separation mechanism with pervaporation, and thus also reviewed because of its high utilization value.By the newly-developed PVFC process intensification,it is possible to solve the problems in separating high boiling-point organics from aqueous solution and the high energy consumption of traditional separation process, and thus achieve the purpose of utilization of high added-value organics in dilute solution.
