Social media on Web have been widely used by users to obtain and share information. At the same time, they also provide ways to the generation and rapid dissemination of false information. The research of false information detection technology is imminent. In this paper, we have scrutinized the related work in latest 10 years and given a survey from three views, that is, false information detection based on content, based on user modeling, and based on propagation structure. The method based on content consists of text-based, image-based, and text-image multi-modal fusion methods. Then, we introduces the main application platforms or systems of false information detection in China and abroad. Finally, the main challenges and future research directions are discussed.
