    abstract:
To study the dynamic response characteristics of concrete beams with Fiber Reinforced Polymer Bars(FRP),the failure process, energy conversion, and dissipation of FRP beams without stirrups under different impact velocity, longitudinal reinforcement, and shear span ratios were discussed through drop weight impact test. The results show that: 1.The failure process of FRP beams can be divided into four stages: impact response stage, damage initiation stage, crack development stage, and spring-back stage. 2.On the basis of the assumption that the displacement distribution of FRP beams is sinusoidal, inertia force was obtained by using the principle of virtual work. Through the analysis of the impact force-time history and the sum of inertia force and supporting force-time history, it is verified that the inertia force formula of RC beam is also suitable for FRP beam.
