Graduation Ceremony for 2021 Graduates of College of Physics and Optoelectronics: I Don’t Want to Say Goodbye
On the afternoon of June 18, 2021, the graduation ceremony for the 2021 graduates of College of Physics and Optoelectronics of Taiyuan University of Technology was held in the lecture hall on Mingxiang Campus. Hao Yuying, Dean of the College, Yang Yibiao, Director of the Key Laboratory of New Sensors and Intelligent Control of the Ministry of Education, Dai Zhen, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, Qiao Tiezhu and Wang Anbang, vice dean of the college, all teachers and all graduates attended the ceremony.
The ceremony began with the video of teachers’ blessings and wishes, followed by the chorus of the school song “The Holy Fire was Lit a Century Ago” by all teachers and students. Dai Zhen, the Deputy Secretary of the college, gave his best wishes to all the graduates and encouraged them to keep a positive attitude and visit their alma mater often, no matter they are successful or not, as they will always be the pride of the College.
Teacher representative Fei Hongming also sent her blessings, saying that graduation means a sublimation of feelings rather than alienation, and put forward six kinds of responsibilities to the graduates who are about to begin a new journey: responsibility for themselves, responsibility for their bodies, responsibility for their lives, responsibility for their choices, responsibility for their alma mater, and responsibility for society and the country. She said, Youth does not disperse, and life just sets sail.
Vice dean Qiao Tiezhu and Wang Anbang expressed their sincere gratitude to the students and sent their graduation wishes to all of them. Then the ceremony came to the most anticipated and sacred moment, Professor Hao Yuying, Dean of the College of Physics and Optoelectronics and Professor Yang Yibiao, Director of the Key Laboratory of New Sensors and Intelligent Control of the Ministry of Education, moved the Tassel for graduates. When the professor turned the tassels, the youth, warm and good wishes, and satisfying achievements were memorized forever.
After the tasseling ceremony, Chen Qi, an outstanding student representative, gave a speech. He summarized his four years’ learning and expressed his gratitude to his alma mater and teachers, as well as his unwillingness to leave his classmates and friends.
Professor Hao Yuying shared her feelings to the graduates with joy and reluctance in her words, encouraged students to keep calm, live hopefully and stand on he solid ground, and finally wished everyone a bright future and a happy life.
At the end of the ceremony, the graduates showed themselves. The first program was a poem recitation: Those Four Years, Our Story. Several graduates dressed in bachelor’s uniforms recalled their four years on the stage through poems, and all the four years seemed to appear in front of their eyes at this moment. The laughter and songs of the students, the teachers’ teaching, the activities, and the optimistic competition were all turned into smiles and tears as invisible threads among the students, which touched the softest part of everyone’s heart.
Then, we watched the short self-made video “My Own Memory” together. The students were deeply touched and felt that the four years of college had passed quickly and every part of the campus was filled with memories of their youth. In the lyrics and melody of “The Intersection of Phoenix Blossoms”, the representatives of graduates waved goodbye to everyone, and said goodbye to their life in Taiyuan University of Technology, thus the graduation ceremony for the 2021 graduates of the College of Physics and Optoelectronics was successfully ended.
The 2021 graduates will leave their alma mater. The university and the college sincerely hope that the students will stay true to their original hopes, shoulder their missions, achieve their dreams through time and hard works, and get success with patience and persistence. The eyes of the alma mater and teachers will always follow the students, wishing them a safe and happy life!
